Fall in Oklahoma

Hey all, well fall in Oklahoma smells different in New England. It has been a rainy few months. Kids are all enjoying school. Everyone is over the Flu and strep from last week. Jeff did great having to be home with them all week.
Went to my first OU game, wow college football is serious bussiness here.
Really missing the old neighborhood this time of year, halloween was so much fun last year with the block. Here we will be having a Halloween party with a haunted hay ride out in the pasture, should be a lot of fun, just different than what we are used to.
We Adopted a horse this weekend, Her name is Bella and she is a small horse that is 3 years old and the kids are really enjoying getting to know her. She had a rough life so far, so we are hoping we can give her everything she needs.

Having too much fun, if there is such a thing. J caught his first catfish and Sam learned to ride a motorcycle. They want to know when we are getting our own horses!

It's HOT!!

Well been here for almost 2 weeks, it has not been under 100 degrees in a week! Thank Goodness for the town pool and the small pool in the yard or we'd kill each other. We have lots of toys to play with, but its just too darn hot to get on them. The kids esp like the go cart!!

Been busy filling out applications, had a few interviews and 3 job offers, now I just need to decide which one is the best fit for me and the family! Jeff is trying to do do ranch work early in the morning when it is cooler, but it is still very hot. Checked out Church on Sunday, where the family goes, was very emotional since I had not really been there since my brother Gary had died, everyone had wonderful things to say about him and his family, was really nice, I think we are going to enjoy be a part of their family!

Sam will start school in less then one month, can't believe she'll be in 1st grade! Looking foward to getting the twins in a preschool program too.

We made it!!

Hey all, well 1650 miles, 3 vehicles, $1000 in gas, 4 adults, 5 kids, 2 dogs, a cat and a rabbit and 3 days later, we are finally here!!!
We left later than expected on wednesday am thanks to the Szyluks and a "few" bottles of champagne!!! Also a very difficult tearful goodbye to everyone.
Everyone did very well except for Cheyenne(the Mastiff) She does not travel around the block well, climbed into the back of the Durango 2 hours before we were to leave and wouldn't come for fear we may leave her. Every stop she'd get out but would pull you back to the Durango in 2 minutes, I think she may have a harder time with this move than the kids.
Samantha on the second day stated she missed Jack(her boyfriend who she is to marry) and she needed to go home and see him one more time.
Well next is unloading the truck into storage, should be fun in 100+ degrees!!!
will post again in a couple of days. Happy and safe 4th to all!!

Last day in Longmeadow

So Our last day was quite crazy.. After getting the truck packed we headed to Hu Ke Lau for the party platter lunch, to thank all our friends for helping us pack and keep the kids out of our hair. Nice lunch, 7 adults 7 kids. The turtles in there can be dangerous, all the kids were over looking at the new baby turtle and one of the youngest ones pokes her head through the railing to see, and proceeds to get her head stuck! all the adults come running to the scene and the baby is crying and we are trying to pry her head out. apparently it is more narrow at the top than the bottom, baby was freed and all was well...... THEN.... later in the afternoon we are all swimming at a friends house 9 kids 4 adults, fun is being had by all. Sydney decides she is done and takes off the swimmies, gets in a towel and is done, so we think. talking with the other adults, J on my lap cuddling, we realize Sydney is in the middle of all the kids with no swimmies, I drop J on his ass on the pool deck, Rebecca is already on her way into the water(fully clothed) and scoops Sydney out of the water. Total drama ensues, many minutes pass... all is well again.
Had a great Champagne toast in front of the house tonight for one last time, just before the thunder came. Our neighbors made a great slide show of our kids over the last 5 years, going to miss them, THEY ROCK, thanks Marc and Rebecca. :-(
Well that is it until we reach Oklahoma!
